GRAY/BLISS - SELECT.OPTION out now on Placenta Recordings!!!

GRAY/BLISS - SELECT.OPTION (out now on Placenta Recordings)

GrayBliss Music Original music by Nicholas Sapounas

Grayblissmusic@gmail.com 680 W. Forest Ave. Detroit MI 48201

“People Say What They Want to Hear (People Hear What They Want to Say) “

I depend on , You Depend on everyone That tries to make amend and then Around it goes and it never ends It never ends I may not know or may not want To really hear or think about What others say and really mean But times like these, after Thought and time, laughter I realize with open eyes People Say what they want to Hear People Hear what they want to Say People Say what they want to Hear People Hear what they want to Say

Notes on the DEMO Select/Option

The Demo is called Select/Option because when I was 16 I dislocated my wrist (X-Ray is the Album artwork) And I had to decide if I wanted to keep doing inline-skating or music and what means more to me. And I decided that my wrists and hands are more important for me and my music so from that day I focused on music which was my Option and Choice that I can never take back.

A demo of two songs related and stringed together like no other that I have made so far. A personal exploration of human and more so friendship interaction through wrong affections.

Notes for the listener for #1 People Say What They Want to Hear (People Hear What They Want to Say)

Clarity of words, thoughts and instances often comes when you go back to it and revisit the exact point of disorder in your mind. The vocals and other* instrument tracks in this piece are at a regular playing aspect while everything else is Reversed , Backwards and mixed and matched with the original recordings. This is trying to portray that sense of understanding when a memory is brought back up when the waters of stress have settled down and clear thought takes action.

from Select/Option *Demo*, 04 May 2014 A musical collage between two versions of the same song. "Wooden Flesh" was the original track which was remixed, edited and set to reverse to become this.

Instruments used : Concertina, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Fender tape echo, Acoustic Guitar used as percussive instrument, claps and slaps,

Notes for the listener for #2 WOODEN FLESH

Here we have an opposite effect of what the previous track was about. The vocals and other* instrument tracks are backwards in this piece, while all the other instruments are regular. There is no way to understand the lyrics but that's how it is sometimes when we cant even talk to anyone or understand what they're saying because we want to spit out our mind and personal belief before or right after them.

credits from Select/Option *Demo*, 04 May 2014 Instruments used : Concertina, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, Fender tape echo, Acoustic Guitar used as percussive instrument, claps and slaps,

This is an alternate Version of "Wooden Flesh" which was the initial instigator piece that made me collage , remix and edit produce "People Say What They Want to Hear" .

Catdog - Culture Jamming Vol. 1 (Placenta Recordings #353 - 2016) out now!

Catdog - Culture Jamming Vol. 1 (Placenta Recordings #353 - 2016)

"I won’t go into an elaborate, wikipedia-style explanation of what is or is not considered “breakcore,” but I will say that being a breakcore DJ is probably not conducive to becoming a rockstar or picking up girls at the bar. This over-the-top genre is just too hard and too weird to go anywhere near the mainstream in the next few years. Those who choose to play it have long forsaken the coveted image of a temporarily-misunderstood EDM genius ultimately destined for greatness. Enter John Catdog: a Jersey-based breakcore DJ and producer whose chaotic sets and intellectually-cohesive style reflect a truly unapologetic attitude toward musical exploration.

While I’m not quite sure what a Catdog really is, I imagine it lives in a self-collapsing black hole at the end of the internet, where most DJs dare not venture. Even those of you who aren’t fond of art that exists exclusively for art’s sake will be pleasantly surprised; a naturally light-hearted and funny person, Catdog uses humorous interludes to make experimental tracks audience-friendly.

So don’t fear the breakcore: prepare to be very amused, kind of puzzled, a little offended, and completely blown away."
